IRS Releases New Form 1024-a for 501(c)(4) Organizations

IRS Releases New Form 1024-a for 501(c)(4) Organizations

The IRS recently released new Form 1024-a for 501(c)(4) organizations.  This form is used to request exempt status from the IRS.

The new form appears to be intended to collect more information from section 501(c)(4) organizations.  The format is very similar to the Form 1023 currently used by 501(c)(3) organizations.

Any new section 501(c)(4) organizations should remember to also fill out Form 8976, which is generally due 60 days after forming a new 501(c)(4) organization.
